Gaylord Opryland Resort invites visitors to enjoy a memorable Nashville vacation with The Smurfs during the resort’s annual SummerFest celebration, taking place May 24 through Sept. 2, 2019.
SummerFest, presented by Aquafina®, offers live entertainment, poolside play and delicious dining—plus an array of family-friendly events and activities inspired by The Smurfs stories and characters.
New this year is Breakfast with The Smurfs, a character dining experience where kids and adults alike will enjoy a delicious buffet prepared by the resort’s award-winning chefs with special visits from all-time favorite Smurfs.
Guests can test their skills in the interactive “The Smurfs’ Way Home” Scavenger Hunt through the resort’s nine acres of subtropical plant life and multi-story waterfalls, or board the Delta Riverboats for the “Blues Cruise” where guests will enjoy the sights and sounds of all things surprisingly blue—as in The Smurfs blue—along a ¼-mile-long indoor river.
Back this year is the popular Splash Party presented by bubly™ at the Cascades Outdoor pool, Musical Art Tour featuring vibrant paintings of musical icons and the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Garden Tour, which gives the history of how the 508-room hotel of the 70s evolved into the nearly 3,000-room picturesque resort it is today.
In addition, Build-A-Bear Workshop® offers visitors the opportunity to make their own furry friend, and Junior Chefs Camps let aspiring culinarians learn from the hotel’s award-winning chefs and even get their own chef hat and apron to take home.
This year, SummerFest will feature an array of FREE activities like Brainy Smurf’s Learning Log, themed photo opportunities and Family Movies featuring The Smurfs. As always, there will be free nightly fountain shows along with the all-new Self-Guided Garden Tours.
SummerFest also has adults ages 21 and up covered at the resort’s 20 restaurants and lounges with events like Color Between the Wines, Jack Daniel’s BBQ Patio along with Build-Your-Own Bloody Marys and Bellinis.
In addition to the Smurftastic fun, guests can choose a package which includes the new upscale indoor/outdoor water attraction, SoundWaves. In true Nashville style, SoundWaves fuses music and water to create an exclusive experience with something for everyone—from incredible thrill rides to relaxing indulgences.
Spanning four acres, SoundWaves features 111,000 square feet of indoor attractions, dining and amenities, as well as 106,000 square feet of outdoor water attractions. Much like the temperature controlled indoor gardens at the resort, SoundWaves will be kept at 84 degrees indoors year-round. In addition, its unique roof will allow guests to sunbathe indoors.
