The Middle Tennessee Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which represents Montgomery, Stewart, Houston and Cheatham Counties, recently held its annual Golf Scramble at Clarksville Country Club.

More than 100 players enjoyed lunch and fellowship on the clubhouse patio before heading on to the course for an afternoon of golf and fundraising.

“Today, we have our annual FCA Golf Challenge,” David Bearden Said. “This is one of two major fundraising events we hold each year. We usually host anywhere between 24 and 28 teams, and this event can raise as much as $100,000 for FCA, which helps support the ministry throughout the entire year.”

“This is a four man scramble format but unlike most, it's not a pay-to-play event,” Bearden continued. “This is a sponsorship tournament, which means, everyone out here today received a sponsorship from someone, whether it be a business or an individual.”

FCA works with local coaches and the young student athletes they influence. Funds raised help them share FCA's 'One Way to Play - Drug and Alcohol Free' message, and helps students attend FCA Camp.
