Chalk Walk

Hundreds came out recently to enjoy a day of art featuring 3D Chalk artists at Downtown Commons. The event was sponsored by Art Link Clarksville, a free creative arts program for the children and youth of Clarksville and the surrounding area, whose mission is to “ignite passion and build character through creativity.”

The event featured professional artists Zach Herndon, Jessi Lindsey Queen, and Tonya Reese Youngberg demonstrating their amazing 3D Chalk Art techniques.

Some lucky, budding artists also got to join in the fun by pre-registering for their own 3' x 3' square of sidewalk space, where they were allowed to create their own works of art, and compete with others in the chalk art contest.

Blazin' Soul Food, and Not Just Lemonade were among vendors providing food and beverages throughout the day. Artist Olasubomi Aka Bashorun was painting, and several other groups, and artisans brought their special talents to Downtown Commons for a day of entertainment, fun and creativity.
