Rafael Rios set up at Downtown Commons recently to continue a tradition that he started when he lived in Texas. Each October, the talented photographer offers a free photoshoot for survivors of breast cancer, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“Today, we are raising awareness for breast cancer survivors and fighters,” Rios said. “I do this event every year, this is my third year. It's a free photoshoot, and it's available to all breast cancer survivors. There is absolutely no cost to the ladies who participate.”
Rios has been personally impacted by breast cancer, and therefore takes great pride in being aboe to offer this free service to so many brave survivors.
“I enjoy meeting with everyone and sharing their stories,” Rios said. “I started doing this when I lived in San Antonio, Texas. My wife's mon is a breast cancer survivor. I lost an aunt to the disease, and had an uncle who battled the disease as well. So, this is very heartfelt for us. The first two years were an amazing experience. This is my first year providing this service in Clarksville.”
