Screaming Eagle Ready Mix

Screaming Eagle Ready Mix is a sponsor of the 2018 Clarksville Walk to End Alzheimer's. While preparing for this year's walk, Screaming Eagle's Duane King had an Alzheimer's Walk folder on his desk. That's when he found out that one of his employees, Robert Ashabranner, had a personal connection to the cause.

Ashabranner shared the story of his mom Stella, who is in the early stages of the disease, with King, and now their work relationship has evolved into a friendship.

King decided to have one of the company's concrete trucks lettered with the Alzheimer's Association logo and phone number on both doors and the front of the truck. He sent Ashabranner to Fastsigns for the installation of the new decals. Ashabranner was completely surprised.

“I've been with Screamin Eagle for two years now. It's the best company I've ever worked for,” Ashabranner said. “My mom's 71 and at the very first stage of Alzheimer's, so we are in for a long hard road. All the signs are there, so we are meeting with specialists now.

“Mom could remember everything, now she doesn't even know her own phone number. It's shocking to see her refer to the washing machine as the laundry basket or the kitchen table. But, I can play old music, and she can tell me who sang it.”

Cindy Hancock, Brenda Mendez and other members of this years' Walk to End Alzheimer's organizing committee were on hand for the unveiling, and to see Ashabranner's reaction.
