Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program benefits millions of kids throughout the United States and beyond by providing them with free books. Recently, the Hopkinsville-Christian County Library hosted its annual fundraiser, Jazz in June, to benefit the program.
“We have 3,300 kids receiving books now, and it would be hard to say just how many thousands of local kids this program has helped over the years,” said Bonnie Lynch.
Lynch says that every year the library hosts this much-anticipated evening of dinner, dancing and drinks, but this year they have taken it to another level. “We had a great turnout this year, and we are served a full dinner,” Lynch said. “In years past, we served heavy hors d'oeuvres. Also, we featured live jazz music by Damontrez Bell and his band and dancing continued into the night as a DJ kept the party going.”
