Father's Day Meet & Greet

Recently the 501st Legion was at Governor's Square Mall to help local kids and their dads celebrate Father's Day and raise money for a couple of local charities.

Children and adults smiled big as they met with Imperial Stormtroopers, Sith Lords, Clone Troopers bounty hunters, and other heroes and villains from the Star Wars universe.

Governor's Square Mall Marketing Director, Andra Ruffier, took a moment to talk about the popular event. “This is our third year for the Father’s Day Meet & Greet,” Ruffier said. Members of the 501st Legion's Midsouth Garrison, all volunteers from different parts of the United States, get together and help raise donation money for local charities. This year representatives from Manna Cafe and Tennessee Dreams & Wishes set up tables. People made a donation and then they met and greeted their favorite Star Wars characters.”

As soon as the characters came into the lobby area, families began to line up for a visit with a Star Wars character and a photograph to commemorate the occasion.
