More than 200 people attended the recent Christian County Chamber of Commerce Legislative Luncheon with guest speakers, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and United States Secretary of Energy Rick Perry.
The event was co-sponsored by Planter's Bank and Commonwealth Agri-Energy.
McConnell and Perry spent time in McCracken and Christian Counties, participated in an energy round table in Hopkinsville, and then spoke at the Chamber's luncheon, which was held at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.
Kentucky New Era Publisher Taylor Hayes introduced McConnell, who talked about Senate achievements since President Donald Trump took office, including the tax plan and the appointment of Neil Gorsuch and other conservative judges.
McConnell spoke briefly. Then he brought featured speaker, former Texas Governor Rick Perry, to the podium.
