The Christian County Master Gardener Association recently held its annual Garden and Outdoor Living Expo at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.
Joan Worsham is CCMGA's Secretary. “I was in charge of registration and hospitality at the Expo,” Worsham said. “This is our third year in the Convention Center, and I think we have an exciting show for everyone to enjoy.”
Worsham said that almost 1,000 people came to last year's event, and she expected a similar turnout for this year's 2-day event.
Dozens of local and regional garden and outdoor vendors were on hand. There were gardening activities for children, free tool and mower blade sharpening, food trucks, and seminars on several garden-related subjects, including proper pruning, dazzling day lilies, bee-keeping, and backyard birding.
“We had lots of great items in this year's silent auction,” Worsham said. “We encouraged everyone to come out, bid at the auction and enjoy the booths. We had over 40 vendors with everything from flowers to outdoor furniture and many other items. Attendees at the Garden and Outdoor Living Expo could find anything one might need for gardening and outdoor living.”
