They say you know when you know; and you might say that, for Emily Goodman and Holt Linde, the knowing happened almost right away. Having met through mutual friends during their college days at Samford University in Birmingham, the two started dating and quickly came to the conclusion that this was it—the relationship that would last. Over the next eighteen months, that sense of knowing became even more of a certainty, and Holt took Emily up on a hill overlooking the city and presented her with a collection of photos highlighting their relationship and a heartfelt letter describing the value and importance of their love. After presenting her with a ring and getting her enthusiastic “Yes!,” Holt’s perfect plan for the perfect proposal ended with a picnic with a perfectly romantic sunset sky painting the heavens around them. “It was absolutely amazing, and I will be forever grateful that he chose to spend the rest of his life with me,” says Emily.
Five and a half months later on March 18, 2017, Emily wore a classic high-necked ivory satin gown with an A-line skirt as she walked down the aisle at The Silo Event Center in her hometown of Hopkinsville to meet the man of her dreams. After exchanging their vows and having their union officially declared, the newly married Lindes joined their loved ones for a cocktail hour and buffet style reception held at The Silo, where they dined and danced their first dance as a married couple to Johnny Swim’s “Take the World.” The world was indeed for the taking, and after they indulged in a three-tiered edible masterpiece of chocolate, strawberry, and carrot cake, the couple jetted off to an exotic honeymoon in Fiji. Now back home in Franklin, Tennessee, the Lindes are enjoying many sunsets together—and looking forward to watching them for a lifetime.
