CAST & Crowns Performing Arts Center staged The Nutcracker & More with dozens of cast members and an adoring audience that filled the Rossview Middle School theater.
C&C PAC’s owner and Artistic Director, Christy Sanders, took a moment just before the start of the show to talk about this special production.
“This show will feature our students singing, dancing, and acting,” Sanders said. “A lot of people don’t know that The Nutcracker was a play before it became a ballet. We have a big turnout tonight, and we’ve had lots of calls from people wanting to come see this year’s show. We are very excited.”
Sanders says CAST & Crowns currently has about 100 students who enjoy classes in acting, dancing, and singing. Pageant classes are offered as well.
“It’s a youth performing arts center,” Sanders said. “We had students ranging in age from 18 months to 18 years on the stage at the Nutcracker show. There were even some little tiny tots in the production. We start preparing the winter show about the third week of September, so these kids put a lot of time and hard work into this project.”
Each year, in July, CAST & Crowns does a full musical. This past summer Beauty and The Beast was brought to life on stage. The winter show usually takes place in December. Then after a short holiday break, teachers and students begin preparing for the spring show.
