Clarksville’s Gateway Chamber Orchestra gave its final performance of the 2016 – 2017 season on Sunday, April 30 at APSU’s George & Sharon Mabry Concert Hall. The GCO was formed in 2008 and is recognized as one of the leading new American ensembles. Conductor Greg Wolynec and a world-class ensemble bring a fresh mix of traditional works, obscure musical gems and contemporary works to an appreciative Middle Tennessee audience. Celebrating Nature’s Beauty opened with works by George Butterworth, and John Luther Adams. After a brief intermission, the GCO, conducted by Gregory Wolynec, performed a flawless rendition of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 in F, Op. 68 Pastoral (1808). Sunday’s concert and reception at Fortera Stadium’s Governor’s Club was sponsored by Hand Family Companies and Budweiser.
