Trivia Night At The Silo

Trivia night at The Silo was a big hit on Thursday, March 2.  The doors opened at 6:30 pm with everyone ready to start at 7:00 pm. The Dyslexia Association of the Pennyrile hosted the first annual trivia night with the support of community members to raise money for their mission. The association is a nonprofit group in Hopkinsville, KY. Their mission is to provide screenings, educational tutorials, and supportive services to people who have dyslexia and related disabilities. The event was held to raise money to provide these services to people. The Dyslexia Association aims to raise awareness of these disabilities. People came to the event with their thinking caps on ready for a night full of games and prizes. Everyone had a great time and was very competitive, trying to win the $1,000 cash prize with only 45 seconds on the clock for each question and no help from cell phones. Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks emceed the game while City Council members acted as judges. It was a great event for the whole community to enjoy. Popcorn and drinks were provided, but groups could bring in their own snacks. “BYOS”! The association hopes to hold this event yearly.
