While it’s hardly unusual to find yourself gazing longingly into the mesmerizing eyes of your boss as you imagine the beautiful children you’ll have together after your fairytale wedding and a honeymoon in the tropics, for 24-year-old Louisville native Laura Kolb, the daydream became reality when she walked down the aisle to marry Kyle Dattilo on a sunny April day in 2016. Having fallen for the famous “Kyle smile” when she interviewed for a job at the local restaurant he was managing, Laura knew from their first meeting that he had something special, and the pair made an instant connection. “He had the biggest, most beautiful smile I’d ever seen, and he just drew me in right away when we talked,” Laura recalls.
The captivation was mutual and over the next few months of working together, Kyle and Laura went from co-workers to coupledom, making things official when Kyle, 28, proposed during a weekend trip to St. Louis. Kicking off the romance at a rooftop restaurant above the Four Seasons Hotel, Kyle later popped the big question just after sunset, dropping to one knee amidst the magical misty glow of the colorful fountain lights at the reflecting pool in Forest Park.
Nine months later, wearing a lace A-line strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline, Laura walked down the aisle at Belle Hollow in Clarksville to marry her sweetheart in a rustic-chic wedding that reflected the young couple’s fun personalities and love of simplicity. After exchanging their vows, Kyle and Laura celebrated with their friends and family at a reception prepared and catered by the talented team at Belle Hollow, feasting on tender steak served in a rich mushroom and scallion sauce with roasted seasonal veggies and gooey mac-n-cheese. As the event got under way, guests enjoyed dancing to music provided by Lt. Dan’s DJ and later put the newlyweds in the hot seat, cheering them on as they played The Shoe Game. “Kyle and I had to sit back to back, each holding a pink shoe and a blue shoe, and hold them up to answer questions that the DJ asked us. It was hilarious,” Laura laughs.
After cutting into a delicious chocolate raspberry cake, the lovebirds flew the coop to head off to their honeymoon in Cancun. The Dattilos now live in Louisville, where they work side-by-side keeping things running like a well-oiled machine at Kyle’s business.
