Fort Campbell Spouses Club hosts two large fundraisers each year, along with several smaller fund-raising events, all in an effort to give back to the community. In May, FCSC held its annual Awards Ceremony and Luncheon at Cole Park Commons.
“Today is our Hawaiian-themed Spring Luau, and it's a very busy day for us,” FCSC President, Colleen Murphy said. “We are welcoming the new Division Command Sergeant Major's spouse, Windy Barker. And, today is the day we award our scholarships and community grants. This year, we will be giving away more than $86,000.”
A total of 22 students received scholarships. There were four Community Grant Recipients for national organizations, EOD Warrior Foundation, National Military Family Association, Operation Song, and Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS).
Community Grants were also presented to dozens of local organizations throughout the Clarksville, Hopkinsville, Fort Campbell area.
“This is FCSC's final luncheon for the 2018 – 2019 fiscal year,” Murphy said. “This is a great way to kick off Summer. We will take a little time off then reconvene in August, when we'll have our super sign-up and membership drive.”
